Ethiopia has built a new palace on Entoto Avenue at a cost of 130 million Birr (over US$ 5 million) to move the Head of the State President Mulatu Teshome next month, according to a source close to the issue.


The extravagant new palace designed by Ultimate Architects and built by Zamra Construction, is estimated to cover 40,000sqm plot and contains a tennis court and a swimming pool and rooms furnished with modern furniture imported from Italy.

“The Jubilee Palace on Menelik II Avenue, where the President and his family reside now, will be renovated before it is transformed to serve as a museum.” the source added.
